PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a makeup base for cosmetics having excellent durability of cosmetic effect low in stretched feeling of or pressing feeling to the skin by blending silicone paste therewith. SOLUTION: This makeup base for cosmetics contains 1-100wt.%, preferably 30-100wt.% of silicone paste obtained by blending or crushing a silicone elastomer with a silicone oil, and platy powder, especially platy barium sulfate, talc, mica, sericite, kaolin, etc., when occasion demands. The silicone elastomer is resin powder having 0.1-20μm average primary particle diameter and dimethylpolysiloxane, etc., having 1-1,000cst viscosity at a normal temperature is preferably used as the silicone oil. As for components other than above components, those used in cosmetics can suitably be mixed in the silicone paste. The objective makeup base for cosmetics can be used also as a filter color having a makeup base effect by coloring with powder or a pigment, etc. Especially, the makeup base is effective for improving durability of a cosmetic such as a foundation, face powder, eye shadow and rouge.
