<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide superior printing performances in wide-area process speed by providing an oxidized polydiene outer surface containing a polyurethane main body, conductive filler, and polydiene. SOLUTION: A developing roller is provided with an oxidized polydiene outer surface containing a polyurethane main body, conductive filler, and polydiene. That is to say, electric characteristics of an injection polyurethane conductive rubber roller having a surface layer with high electric resistance resembles to the electric characteristics of a coated roller. This roller is so constituted that polydiene such as polyisoprene, concretely using polybutadiene as a prepolymer of polyore or urethane, is blended with second polyurethane prepolymer and conductive additive such as ferric chloride. The hardened surface of the roller is oxidized so as to form the surface layer of a high electric efficiency material. The surface of the roller is oxidized by reaction between oxygen and polybutadiene using the ferric chloride as a catalyst.</p> |
