PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solidifier for finely particulate sludge of high water content such as construction sludge resulted from washing or coal ash, by combined use of clement with polyvinyl alcohol so as to favorably prevent hardening inhibition due to carboxyls and mechanical strength drop of solidified sludge due to lime leaching. SOLUTION: This solidifier, which is intended to raise the mechanical strength of the resulting solidified product by incorporation, in combination with clement, into finely particulate sludge of high water content, contains (A) a polyvinyl alcohol 70-100% in saponification degree. This solidifier pref. additionally contains (B) polyvinyl acetate and (C) a water-soluble oily resin such as polyvinyl ether, polyvinyl butyral, polymethyl acrylate or polyvinyl formal. Thus, this solidifier clan develop adequate viscosity, excellent adherability and tackiness. |
