<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a processed picture signal with desired frequency response characteristics by easily adjusting the definition parameter of a converting function by a user with little experiences in a picture processing method for preparing plural blurred picture signals based on an original picture signal, preparing plural band pass signals based on the original picture signal and the plural blurred picture signal, preparing plural converted picture signals by converting each band pass signal based on plural converting functions, and adding an integrated signal obtained by integrating each converted picture signal to the original picture signal, and emphasizing the specific frequency components of the original picture signal. SOLUTION: The desired frequency response characteristics of a processed picture signal are designated by a frequency response characteristic designating means 5, a prescribed arithmetic operation is executed based on the designated characteristic for deciding the definition parameter of a converting function by a converting function defining means 4, and a processing is executed by using the function defined by the decided parameter by a non-linear processing means 3.</p> |
