<p>A head feeding apparatus for recording information signals in a disk shaped recording medium such as an optical disk or reading the signals recorded therein comprises a guide mechanism and a moving mechanism. The guide mechanism guides the head in a direction of the diameter of the disk shaped recording medium. The moving mechanism moves the head along the guide mechanism. The moving mechanism comprises a driving source, a rack and a transmission mechanism. The rack is moved together with the head. The transmission mechanism meshes with the rack to transmit a driving force from the driving source. The rack is provided with elastic deformation sections for urging the gear section of the rack toward the transmission mechanism.</p> |
