PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the deodorizing effect to sludge by using a deodorizer composed of powder formed of organic porous powder and inorganic porous powder in which particles are contained as a main component and its specified surface area is at least a specified value, and the ignition loss value at the specified temperature heating is the specified value or lower, and weak alkali properties are demonstrated by the slurry. SOLUTION: Organic powder and inorganic powder to be used are composed of 5mm 5mm screened particles (average particle diameter of 30μm) as a main component, and the specified surface area is 10m<2> /g or more. The ignition loss value at 750 deg.C heating of respective powder is restricted to 60wt.% or less. Slurry thereof is of weak alkali properties, namely pH7 or higher is exhibited. As the organic porous powdery bodies, active carbon and wood ash and also various vascular bundle plants such as coconut shells, rice husks, coffee shells or the like the used. As the organic porous powdery material, a porous mineral powder being rich in silica component such as zeolite, sepiolite, diatomaceous earth, acidic china clay and others, namely porous mineral powdery bodies containing silica component of 50wt.% or more are used.
