<p>A dynamic, self-compensating constant volume deformation support system (22) includes a sealed constant volume containment chamber (26) including a base (28) and a rigid peripheral wall (24); a load-carrying deformable plate (10a) carried by and attached to the peripheral wall; a non-compressible fluid (30) within the containment chamber supporting the plate and responding to a negative deflection created by an applied load to the plate by creating an opposite and offsetting pressure uniformly distributed on the underside of the plate for creating a positive deflection of the plate and producing a net deflection an order of magnitude lower than normally induced by the applied load.</p> |
