Techniques are described for in situ recovery of hydrocarbons, e.g., via Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD), in which a Once-Through Steam Generator (OTSG) produces steam for injection into a reservoir and a blowdown stream which is filtered, e.g., using nano-filtration. The filtered water stream can be directly recycled back into a boiler feed water tank. Certain contaminants can be removed from the blowdown stream, such as dissolved organic matter, calcium, magnesium and/or silica. |
