WWW UPDATING NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the useless traffic in an internet, to eliminate the useless operations at the client side and to prevent the confusion at the WWW server side by detecting the updating of data of a WWW server and sending the electronic mails to the users who are previously registered. SOLUTION: The data file of a WWW server 1 is stored in a register disk 3, and a user of the client side notifies the server 1 of his own mail address. A user register part 11 stores the notified electronic mail addresses of users. A file monitoring part 13 always monitors the data file stored in the disk 3 and checks whether the data file is updated. If the data file is updated the part 13 notifies an updating notification part 12 of the updating of the data file. The part 12 acquires the electronic mail address of every user from the part 11 and sends an outline of the updated file data.
