PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shift mechanism efficiently assembled with the minimum number of part items by providing a tab in one end of a pivot member to be extended from the pivot member in a radial direction and a flange disposed outside one of sockets. SOLUTION: A base part 10 of a shift lever assembly 30 has front and rear walls 15 for supporting left and right side walls 16 and 17 and, on sockets 18 and 19 formed respectively in the side walls 16 and 17, pins 60 having tabs 65 for pivotally supporting the shift lever assembly 30 are supported. A circular opening is provided in the side wall 16, and a stub 22 is formed for providing a flange 23. The shift lever assembly 30 includes a pipe-like bar 32, and its lower part is inserted into a body part 33 made by molding. For deviating a catch 31 upward by the top of the pipe-like bar 32, a spring 37 is provided inside a sleeve 35 vertically formed in the body part 33, and the pin 60 is inserted into an opening 39 in the lower end of the body part 33. |
