PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear transformation method for texture encoding on an object provided with a segment in an optional shape by performing division into regular sub segments, applying orthogonal linear transformation to the respective segments and repeating transformation inside a transformed space. SOLUTION: By performing division into the regular sub segments, the characteristics of signals to be encoded are taken into consideration simultaneously with the geometry of the segment. The algorithm of simple division indicates that the overloads of calculation are less. As a possible division method, the method of recursively obtaining the rectangular sub segment of a maximum area inscribing the segment or dividing it into linear sub segments (columns) is present. Also, the repetition of the transformation is executed to the set of coefficients selected so as to concentrate the energy of signals to the segment. Adjustment is possible corresponding to a hypothesis for the signals and the geometry of the segment and it is required to repeat the transformation especially to the entire continuous components. |
