DIGITAL STILL CAMERA USING PROGRESSIVE IMAGE SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital still camera which does not need a frame memory to store the images in each frame by using a progressive image sensor that can read all the pixel data. SOLUTION: Light received through a lens part 200 is converted into electric signals by a progressive image sensor 210, only while a mechanical shutter is kept open. The signals for all the pixels are read out of the electric signals outputted from the sensor 210 which is under the control of a video signal processing/control part 230. Then the read signals are converted into the digital signals by a A/D converter 220 and inputted to the part 230. The part 230 converts the digital signals into the digital color video data and stores them in a strip memory part 250. Furthermore, the part 230 stores the video data which have been stored in the stip memory part 250 into a video recording memory part 260.
