<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attain special reproduction especially in the case of the reproduction method for a recording medium on which image information subject to high efficiency coding is recorded. SOLUTION: The method has a step where in the case of displaying only an image of an independent frame such as image search, a signal read from a recording medium is stored in a buffer means 5 and read control information to control an information read step in relation to the stored signal amount is fed to a read control step and a step where independent frame access information denoting a position at which independent frames before and after a current independent frame is recorded. Furthermore, in the read control step, the information read step is controlled in response to reproduction mode information, independent frame access information and read control information to reproduce the independent frame recorded on the image recording medium.</p> |
