SUPPORT APPARATUS FOR A HANDICAPPED PERSON

The support apparatus is used for supporting a disabled person into a tilted or generally vertical position during a few hours each day, in an alternative to be ing in a bed or sitting in a chair. The apparatus has a table to receive the body of th e user. The table is tiltable with respect to a pair of arms which support the table. Th e arms are pivotable in the vertical plane and are joined together by a horizontal conn ecting member. The arms are activated by a screw, extending horizontally and longitudin ally in the base portion of the apparatus. The screw is connected to the lower ends o f the arms by a pivoting mechanism. The apparatus allows the height of the table to be easily adjusted, thereby facilitating the positioning of the user on the table.
