摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin-reinforced elastomer which is excellent in extrudability before vulcanization and gives a low-density vulcanizate having a uniform modulus hardly exhibiting anisotropy and excellent in tensile strength and resistances to abrasion and fatigue by bonding dispersed polyolefin particles having specified particle sizes to a rubber. SOLUTION: The polyolefin used here pref. has an m.p. of 80-250 deg.C and a Vicat softening point of 50-200 deg.C and is a homopolymer of a 2-8C olefin or a copolymer of the olefin with acrylic acid, a styrene compd., vinyl acetate, or a vinylsilane compd., esp. pref. examples being polyethylene and polypropylene. The polyolefin is dispersed homogeneously in and bonded to a rubber by using a coupling agent (e.g. a silane coupling agent), and the average diameter of the dispersed polyolefin particles is 1μm or lower. The rubber compsn., suitable for pneumatic tire treads, is prepd. by melt mixing an additional rubber component with pellets prepd. by melt mixing the rubber, the polyolefin, and the coupling agent.
