PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the power consumption of a battery to a minimum by waking up a control part from a power down state only when there is a key input during the execution of radio mode especially while making one keyboard device usable as a cable or radio keyboard device. SOLUTION: This keyboard device automatically discriminates the state of connecting the main body connecting part 37 of a keyboard device with the main body of a computer (not shown in the figure) and when the connected state is discriminated, a cable mode is executed simultaneously with the selection and supply of power from the main body of the computer. When the disconnected state is discriminated, the power source of a built-in battery is selected and supplied and the radio mode is executed at the same time.
