The apparatus has a number of accommodation spaces (R) each of which is limited by two successively located rollers (1a,1b). Always between two successive accommodation spaces two rollers are arranged one after the other and are connected with shafts (2), which are rotatably located. The shafts (2) are connected with at least one transport unit (3a,3b) extending in the transport direction. One of each of the transport units (3a,3b) is formed as a transport chain, which is drivable with a chain wheel. Alternatively, one of each transport components is formed as a belt, drivable with a pulley. The shafts with their outer ends (4) are located in bearing components (5), provided with U-shaped connecting pieces.
