<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of preventing the heat generated by a heater during the defrosting operation from being transferred into a cooling chamber, and shutting off the in-flow of the outside air to the periphery of an evaporator when a door is opened. SOLUTION: A refrigerator is provided with an opening/closing device 30 to open/close a cold air discharge port formed in a cold air duct. The opening/ closing device 30 includes a plate to open/close the cold air discharge port, a movable member 36 provided with racks 36a, 36b to drive the plate 32, and a motor 40 to drive the movable member 36. The cold air discharge port is closed by the plate 32 when the surface of an evaporator is defrosted by a heater and/or when the door is opened. The cooling efficiency is improved thereby, and generation of the frost on the surface of the evaporator is prevented.</p> |
