PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively reduce the load to which the foot of a driver is subjected from a brake pedal when cars collide. SOLUTION: A pedal bracket 4 extending upward in the rear from a dashboard lower 1 supporting a negative pressure booster B is connected to a dashboard upper 2 through a bolt 11 so that they can be separated from each other. When the negative pressure booster B, the dashboard lower 1, and the pedal bracket 4 are retracted due to impact caused by collision, the connection of the pedal bracket 4 with the dashboard upper 2 through the bolt 11 is released, and the rear end of the pedal bracket 4 separated from the dashboard upper 2 is moved downward along an inclined plane 21 . As a result the brake pedal 6 is rotated forward, and thus the load applied to the foot of a driver, which is put on the brake pedal 6, is reduced. |
