PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ply separation inhibitor capable of reinforcing an adhesive force between paper webs to prevent the ply separation by spraying the agent on the surfaces of the paper webs in a process for laminating the plural paper webs. SOLUTION: This method for preventing ply separation comprises spraying the surfaces of paper webs with a liquid, superposing the surfaces of the sprayed surfaces, pressing the superposed surfaces and subsequently drying the pressed surfaces. Thereby, the adhesive force between the paper webs can be reinforced. The liquid having a pH of <=4.0 is obtained by diluting with water a dispersion obtained by dispersing polymer particles comprising the polymer of monomers containing (meth)acrylic acid and having particles diameters of <=100μm in an aqueous salt solution. The dispersion can be produced by polymerizing the monomers containing (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of a dispersing agent comprising a water-soluble polymer in an aqueous salt solution capable of dissolving the monomers but not dissolving the produced polymer with stirring.
