The caged nut used for the horizontal mounting of a connecting part onto a vehicle structure part is integral with the connector. The nut (3) is held in a housing (22) of the cage (11) by a resilient ring (4) which allows radial movement of the nut relative to the cage. This enables centralising the nut relative to a bolt shank. The cage comprises a radial mounting hole (22) for the nut and is passed through on both sides by an axial guide bore for the bolt. The resilient ring is mounted in a circumferential groove (23) in the cage. The nut can be easily centralised on the bolt shank.
