PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video projection device improving availability of light source light with a simple and miniaturizable structure. SOLUTION: The light from the light source 1 is separated into P polarization and S polarization with different optical axes and polarization directions by a polarizing beam splitter 2. The S polarization is subjected to the P polarization by a λ/2 plate 3. This P polarization and the P polarization obtained through the polarizing beam splitter 2 are respectively optical path converted by mirrors 4, 5 to be made incident on a light incident surface (flat surface) of a prism lens array 6 from the directions different by nearly 90 deg.. Two P polarization made incident on the prism lens array 6 are emitted to one direction also by the refractive action of the minute prisms part of the light emission surface side. In such a manner, the P polarization that the optical axes coincide with each other is made incident on a liquid crystal video display panel 7, and becomes video light, and arrives at a projection lens 8 to be projected on a diffusion screen. |
