RESIN DISPERSION FOR AQUEOUS GLOSS PAINT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin dispersion used for aqueous gloss paints and giving loss coating films excellent in the coating film gloss, salt water resistance and water resistance and preventing the generation of the flush rust. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin dispersion for gloss paints is obtained by mixing a copolymer resin dispersion copolymerized with 0.8-5.0 wt.%, preferably 1.0-3.5 wt.%, of carboxylic acid units with a non-volatile alkali having a conjugate acid dissociation index (PKa) of >=10 in an amount corresponding to 0.2-0.7 equivalent of the carboxylic acid, controlling the mixture to a pH of 7-9.5 and controlling the average particle diameter of the copolymer particles to 0.05-0.2μm.
