PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject agent slight in side effects on human body by including, as active ingredients, an activated vitamin D derivative and an anticancer agent. SOLUTION: This therapeutic agent for leukemia contains, as active ingredients, an activated vitamin D derivative and an anticancer agent. The activated vitamin D derivative is e.g. 1α-hydroxyvitamin D3 , 1α,25- dihydroxyvitamin D3 , 24F2 -1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 ; while the anticancer agent is selected from chlorambucil, daunorubicin, hydroxyurea, Ara-C, camptothecin, and etoposide, etc. The activated vitamin D derivative and the anticancer agent can be formulated in the form of a mixture in a single agent; however, they may be prepared as separate agents in the form of a kit, and taken either simultaneously or in a time-shifted manner when to be used. This agent can inhibit the proliferation of leukemic cells in an extremely effective way and promote the differentiation induction of these cells.
