A synchronizing body (1) for a synchronizing mechanism of a variable-ratio gear transmission, having a ring part (2) that has outer toothing (3) and having an inner ring (5) that has an opening (4) for a gear shaft, the ring part and the inner ring being connected to each other by means of an overrunning clutch that is in the form of a wedge plate freewheel.
