The visor has a body (2) reinforced by a metal wire frame (3). An opening (5) is formed in one of its longitudinal edges (4) and a support arm (6) is arranged in this opening parallel to the edge. The support arm is formed from a plastics tube which is slid onto a section (7) of the frame. The plastics tube is retained on the section of the frame by at least one barb formed on the section of frame by stamping. The barb engages with the internal bore of the plastics tube.
