INTAKE PIPE FOR DEEP WATER AND ITS LAYING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable intake of deep water from a sufficient depth by laying a hard polyethylene pipe with a tension wire attached outside according to conditions of work. SOLUTION: A plurality of clamping members 12 which can be opened/closed are provided around a hard polyethylene pipe and fixed by inserting a tension wire 11 through an insertion hole 12a. A laying boat is shifted to the position for laying an intake pipe, and the hard polyethylene pipe 10 produced in a factory and wound around a drum is rewound onboard. At the same time, the tension wire 11 is rewound from the plurality of drums and guided by a tension wire collecting roller to be inserted through the clamping members 12. After that, the clamping members 12 are glued and fixed to the polyethylene pipe by an adhesive applied on its joint part. By attaching the tension wire 11 in this way, without allowing a tension in the pipe axis direction to act on the polyethylene pipe 10, the pipe can be laid in the deep sea for water intake.
