摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high quality print where the hitting position is not shifted regardless of the dot diameter by employing drive conditions within such range as the drive timing difference, i.e., the drop jetting speed, is substantially constant and the quantity of drop varies when a drop is jetted by driving a plurality of electrothermal converters sequentially. SOLUTION: A plurality of channels 1 are formed while being sectioned by a channel wall 6 and first and second heaters 5, 4 for heating any one or both channels are disposed sequentially in each channel 1 in the flow direction. When the difference of timing for applying a drive pulse to the first and second heaters 5, 4 is increased, the delivery is decreased gradually along with the delivery rate and a minimum delivery is reached at a specified timing difference. Subsequently, the delivery is increased again but the delivery rate is kept in a substantially constant region (region b). Minimum delivery can be realized using the first heater 5 solely and when the drive timing of the second heater 5 is set in the region b, the delivery can be varied while keeping a constant delivery rate.
