PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catch basin in which a U-trap having a smaller aperture than a trap connection can be mounted while the U-trap can have a greater oscillating angle than U-traps of the prior art. SOLUTION: A catch basin 1 comprises a main body 2 and a U-trap 3, with a trap connection 25 extended beneath the main body 2, and with the U-trap 3 connected to the trap connection 25 via a joint 4 in such a way as to freely oscillate relative to the main body 2, the aperture of the U-trap 3 being smaller than that of the trap connection 25. The oscillating angle K of the U-trap 3 is increased by causing a joint axis J1 on the connected side of the U-trap 3 to deviate from a joint axis J2 at the trap connection 25 by a distanceΔL, and increasing the distance L2 between the axis J2 at the trap connection 25 and an axis J3 on the inlet side of the U-trap 3.
