FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: process comprises high- temperature dehydrogenation of iminodibenzyl on contact iron oxide/potassium salt catalyst in vapor phase at 500- 600 C. Catalyst comprises 44-85 wt.% of iron compound based on Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB> and 7-35 wt.% of potassium compound based on K<SB>2</SB>O, in addition to 0.0-3.5 wt.% of chromium compound based on Cr<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and typical promoters.
