<p>A system and method for target reacquisition and aimpoint selection in missile trackers. Distance classifier correlation filters (DCCFs) memorize the target's signature on the first frame (step 52), to be used in a subsequent confidence match test (54). If true, a patch of image centered on the aimpoint is used to synthezise the sub-frame filter (step 56). A next frame search (62) provides the location and characteristics of a peak in the next image, which indicates the target position. The DCCF shape matching processing registers the sub-frame to the lock coordinates in the next frame. When the similarity measure criterion is not satisfied, maximum average correlation height (MACH) filters (step 58) update the aimpoint and redesignate the trackpoint. The target position provided by the MACH filter determination is used to then update the sub-frame filter, and a next frame target search is conducted as before.</p> |
