Detecting bolt position on vehicle door

The position of a vehicle door lock rotating bolt (1) is determined by measuring the electrical capacitance between the bolt and a conductor (9) which is insulated with a coating having a very high dielectric constant and fixed to the lock. The separation of the capacitative component from the admittance measured is achieved either by operational amplifiers and transfer functions or a microcomputer.
