PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a synthetic fiber considerably improved in troubles involved in its electrification under low-humidity conditions by imparting the surface of a synthetic fiber containing a hydrophilic substance, having the main component of the surface consisting of a polyamide with either anionic or cationic surfactant and a amphoteric surfactant each in a specific amount. SOLUTION: This synthetic fiber <=40 denier in total fineness, improved in antistaticity, is obtained by the following process: nylon 6 pellets is blended with a hydrophilic substance consisting of a copolymer fromε-caprolactam/ polyethylene glycol ditumine/adipic acid followed by conducting a melt spinning and then imparting the surface of the spun fiber, via an oiling roller, with either anionic or cationic surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene-added lauryl phosphate sodium salt) and an alkylimidazoline-based amphoteric surfactant so as to satisfy the relationship: [A]×0.25 < [the weight of the amphoteric surfactant] <[A]×4 ([A] is the weight of the anionic or cationic surfactant). |
