PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluoroelastomer which can give a vulcanize having not only an excellent mold releasability from a die at a vulcanizing molding and an excellent adhesive property between the rubber coating layer and the metal plate in a fluororubber coated metal plate used as a gasket materiel or the like, but also satisfactory properties at a low temperature, against an engine oil, against an amine-added oil and the like, and a preparation method of the elastomer. SOLUTION: A fluoroelastomer has a copolymer composition of 45-75 mol.% of vinylidene fluoride, 12-35 mol.% of tetrafluoro ethylene, 6-12 mol.% of perfluoro(methylvinylether) and 6-12 mol.% of hexafluoropropene. The fluoroelastomer is prepared by copolymerizing these monomers at not more than 65 deg.C in the presence of a monomer compound containing bromine or iodine and a bromine compound containing iodine. |
