PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air compressor capable of securing the durability of the junction of a crankshaft with a bearing section and a connecting rod with a lubricant and capable of blocking the mingling of the lubricant into the discharged air without being enlarged in size like a crosshead type one. SOLUTION: A piston 3 is reciprocated in a cylinder 2 in this reciprocating air compressor, a flexible diaphragm 23 is arranged between the piston 3 side and the cylinder 2 side, and the infiltration of a lubricant into a compression chamber formed above the piston 3 is blocked by the diaphragm 23. When the capacity of a void 28 formed between the diaphragm 23, piston 3 side, and cylinder 2 side is set not to be changed by the reciprocation of the piston 3, the load to the diaphragm 23 by the pulsating pressure based on the capacity change of the void 26 is avoided, and durability can be improved. |
