PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain plate-like developer quantity regulating member capable of carrying a developer on a thin film and uniformly electrifying the developer carried on the outer periphery by adopting such a constitution that surfaces constituting a notched part are brought into slidable contact with the outer periphery through the developer, so as to regulate a carried developer quantity. SOLUTION: In the surface of a blade 1 as the developer quantity regulating member facing the outer periphery of a developing sleeve 103, a valley-like notched part 3 which is brought into press-contact with the outer periphery of the developing sleeve 103 through the developer is formed while housing the outer periphery of the sleeve 103. The notched part 3 formed in the blade 1 is machined to suppress the roughness values of slops 3A and 3B constituting the notched part 3. It is desirable that the roughness values are <=0.3 mm at Ra, to prevent the shaving of the outer periphery of the sleeve 103 and the damage of the developer having a fine grain size, caused by the slidable contact of the blade 1 which the outer periphery through the developer, in rotating the sleeve 103. |
