PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount a monitor for observing the butted and aligned state of optical fibers in any one of four side surfaces of a fusing machine in such a manner as to be attachable and detachable, so that the display surface of the monitor can be turned in any direction. SOLUTION: A member locking mechanism 10 is provided on a side part of an optical fiber fusing machine 1, and an engaging member 11 having a support shaft 13 with a spherical head 13a horizontally protruded therefrom is engagingly locked to the member locking mechanism 10 in such a manner as to be attachable and detachable. The support shaft 13 and a shaft 15 with a spherical head protruded on the back surface of a monitor 14 are fitted and fixed to spherical sockets on both ends of a joint 16 to mutually connect both the shafts 13, 15 through the joint. The joint 16 with spherical sockets is halved, and the halved pieces are fastened by the screw shaft 17a of a handle to fix the spherical heads 13a, 15a of the support shaft 13 and the shaft 15 to both ends of the joint 16. |
