PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart lubricity to a metal penpoint of a ballpoint to thereby improve writing characteristics by adding diisodecylpentaerythritol diphosphite to an aq. ballpoint ink compsn. comprising a water-soluble org. solvent, water, and a colorant. SOLUTION: Diisodecylpentaerythritol diphosphite of the formula is added. The amt. of it added is pref. 0.1-3 wt.% of the ink compsn. Water, the main solvent, is contained in an amt. of at least 20 wt.% based on the compsn. A polyhydric alcohol (e.g. ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, methylcellosolve, or glycerin) is used as the water-soluble org. solvent in an amt. of about 5-30 wt.% of the compsn. The colorant may be a dye or a pigment, may be in the form of a powder or an aq. paste, and may be any dye or pigment used in conventional ballpoint ink compsns. |
