PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition giving excellent gloss, flexibility, excellent wiriness, excellent combability and good touch to hair by including a titanium dioxide-containing colored mica and anα-hydroxy acid. SOLUTION: This composition for dyeing hair contains (A) 0.5-10 wt.% of a titanium dioxide-containing colored mica, such as titanium mica, red iron oxide-coated titanium mica or carmine-coated titanium mica, [preferably having an optical titanium dioxide layer thickness of 400-800 nm, given by (the thickness of a titanium dioxide layer)×(the refractive index of the titanium dioxide)], and (B) 1.0-20.0 wt.% of anα-hydroxy acid (anα-hydroxymonocarboxylic acid, anα-hydroxy dicarboxylic acid, concretely glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid,α-hydroxybutyric acid or the like) and/or its salt.
