<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a spherical body such as a golf ball of an extremely favorable molding performance having a thin surface layer of a uniform thickness easily in mass quantity at favorable productivity to securely form a surface layer of a uniform thickness, attain a thin layer and a plural layer formation, and avoid diameter contraction of a core. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method includes a pre-molding process of placing a pair of sheet members 1 to cover cavity parts of split parts 3, 4 having semi-spherical recessed inner surfaces in a two-split die 2, pressing surfaces of the sheet members on the opposite sides of a facing surface to a die inner surface, and applying the sheet members to the split die inner surface by vacuum suction of the facing surface to the die inner surface to form a pair of shell bodies 11, a surface layer molding process of separating a different two-split die protruding a pattern forming projecting part on the inner surface, loading the pair of the shell bodies 11 onto respective split dies, disposing a core in one split die, jointing the other split die, pressing a shell inner surface by the core, and forming a surface layer by vacuum suction of shell outer surfaces from the die inner surface, and a manufacturing process to fuse and harden the surface layer to the core in the molding die 2 closed.</p> |
