<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polymerized toner having a low fixing temp. and uniform meltability, excellent in preservability (blocking resistance) and flowability and less liable to generate fog and to lower printing density. SOLUTION: A polymerizable monomer compsn. contg. at least a colorant, a polymerizable monomer and a releasing agent is suspended in an aq. dispersive medium contg. a dispersion stabilizer and it is suspension-polymerized in the presence of an oil-soluble polymn. initiator until the rate of polymn. conversion attains to the range of 30-97%. While the rate of polymn. conversion is within the range, a water-soluble polymn. initiator is added to the aq. dispersive medium, suspension polymn. is further continued to form colored polymer particles and the objective polymerized toner is produced. A polymerizable monomer for shells is suspension-polymerized in the presence of the colored polymer particles to form colored polymer particles with polymer layers formed as shells on the surfaces and the objective polymerized toner having a core-shell type structure is produced.</p> |
