The marking system consists of excavating trenches (2) in the ground (1) along the line to be marked. Concrete is poured into the trenches to form foundations (3) for rigid profiles (20) of galvanized iron attached to anchored supports (4, 7, 8). A strip (30) of a supple elastomer material is then attached to the upper surface of the profile so that it lies flush with the ground and acts as the line marking. On turfed ground a strip of white synthetic turf can be fixed to the surface of the elastomer strip.
