Non contact magnetic sensor produces an output proportional to angular position of a permanent magnet. - The device has a stator and a rotor, which can be adjusted to different angular positions with respect to the stator. A permanent magnet (3) is fitted to the rotor (2) and a magnetic sensor (4) is fixed so that it cannot rotate with the stator (1). The magnetic sensor (4) is essentially parallel to the plane in which the magnetic field produced by the permanent magnet. The sensor (4) is fitted so that it is not in contact with the permanent magnetic. The sensor (4) provides a signal proportional to the angular position of the permanent magnet (3).
