PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus reutilizing ink sucked at a time of maintenance and not requiring an ink absorbing element for waste ink. SOLUTION: Ink of process black obtained by mixing respective color inks of cyan, magenta and yellow is used as black ink. A cap 6 is applied to respective recording heads 1-4 in a maintenance part 5 and sucked by a pump 7 to remove waste refuse or air bubbles in the recording heads 1-4 along with the inks. By mixing the inks sucked at this time, the ink of process black is obtained. Waste refuse or air bubbles are removed from this ink by a filter 8 and, after the concn. of the ink is adjusted by a dilution soln. adding apparatus 9, the black ink is supplied to a black recording head 4 from a black ink filling route 11 to be reutilized. In this processes, no waste ink is generated and an ink absorbing element for waste ink is unnecessary. |
