PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely discard hot water by a method wherein for a liquid container such as an electric pot which discharges a liquid in a container being housed in an exterior body, at a proper place located closer to the outer periphery of the bottom face of the exterior body, a finger rest is provided. SOLUTION: A liquid is placed in an electric pot by opening a lid 5 which is attached to a shoulder body 3 of an exterior body 1, and also, the liquid is discharged by removing the lid 5, and at the same time, an electric part 7 which is required for the control of the discharging of the liquid inside, is loaded on the shoulder body 3. For such an electric pot, a discharging port 12 comprising a groove-form recessed part is provided at a location which is shifted by an angleθin the opposite direction from a plug receiver 8 from the central line A, as a most suitable location to discharge the liquid inside by tilting the electric pot. Then, on the bottom face of the exterior body 1, a groove-form finger rest 13 is provided at a location which is shifted to the outer periphery of the bottom face, and also, becomes the opposite side from the discharging port 12. By this method, when the liquid inside is discharged, the liquid does not come into contact with the electric part 7 or the like, and can be safely discharged.
