<p>A treatment for fibers which comprises a polyester compound obtained from (A) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or an anhydride or a lower alkyl ester thereof, (B) a diol, and (C) a phosphinic acid derivative and having a weight-average molecular weight of 500 to 20,000. The treatment comprises halogen-free compounds and can impart long-lasting flame retardancy to synthetic polyester fibers by a post-treatment.</p> |
