POWER SUPPLY UNIT USING MAGNET TYPE AC GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an inexpensive element whose current capacity is small as a switch for output shorting by restraining short-circuit current flowing in shorting the output of a permanent-magnet generator for load protection. SOLUTION: An exciting coil 5 for field adjustment which generates magnetic flux for field adjustment is mounted on the stator side of a permanent-magnet generator 1, and the exciting coil 5 for field adjustment is inserted on the way of the output short circuit of the generator 1. The exciting coil 5 for field adjustment is excited by short-circuit current flowing through thyristors Thu to Thw which form a switch for output shorting. The magnetic field of a magnet is formed so that the magnetic field of a rotor in the generator 1 may be demagnetized when the exciting coil 5 for field adjustment is excited.
