PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To linearly transform image data with a simple circuit constitution. SOLUTION: An arithmetic interpolation part (a) computes inputted image data and an interpolation coefficient and generates interpolation picture elements. A memory part (b) writes and successively reads the image data from the arithmetic interpolation part (a). An interpolation coefficient generation part (c) adds second data for indicating the interpolation coefficient to first data for indicating a picture element transformation rate by the arithmetic interpolation part (a) and newly generates second data for indicating the interpolation coefficient. A changeover control circuit 11 controls the write of the image data in the memory part (b). A magnification addition data generation part (d) generates third data for supplying visual nonlinear characteristics to the image data, adds the third data to the first data and newly generates first data.
