PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make continuously executable a preliminary drawing and fusion drawing in the manufacture of a wavelength-in dependent type optical fiber coupler using optical fibers of the same sort. SOLUTION: The device for manufacturing an optical fiber coupler by the fusion drawing of 1st and 2nd optical fibers 3, 4 is provided with 1st group slider devices 1 including chucks 1a for grasping at least the 1st optical fiber 3 on both the sides of a fusion drawing part formed on the fiber 3 and moving the fiber 3 in a direction for changing its grasping interval and 2nd group slider devices 2 having chucks 2a for grasping the 2nd optical fiber 4 on both the sides of a fusion drawing part formed on the fiber 4 and moving the fiber 4 in a direction for changing its grasping interval. These slider devices 1, 2 are arranged in mutually parallel and close to the positions allowing the fusion of these fibers 3, 4, and the moving operation of the chucks 1a, 2a is independently executed. |
