PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily visually judge discrimination between the artery and the vein by displaying a kind of the blood vessel by a classification by color by detecting whether it is the artery or the vein from bloodstream information detected by an ultrasonic echo signal. SOLUTION: Deomographic data (v) of picture elements is inputted to an artery/vein discriminating means from the speed mapping part of a means to detect a dromographic pattern from an ultrasonic echo signal to be stored in a frame buffer 61. The parameter calculating part 62 calculates a resistance index RI by using the dromographic data, and the calculation error correcting part 63 corrects a calculation error in a resistance index RI value of the respective picture elements through a special operation between resistance indexes of the adjacent picture elements to be outputted to the artery/vein judging part 64. The judging part 64 judges it as the artery when a resistance index RI' of the corrected picture elements is larger than a preset reference value, and judges it as the vein when the index is small to be outputted to the color mapping part 65. Thus, the artery is mapped in red, and the vein is mapped in blue to be outputted to the display part. |
